The view of Russia's environmental programmes from abroad

Russian's slack implementation of the Kyoto protocol, President's Medvedev's recent assertion that Russia should receive funding to implement environmental programmes, grass root Russian ecological movements, as well as the unique Russian "closeness to the earth" are some of the subjects discussed today with Climate Change's studio guest: Dr. Laura Henry. Dr Henry has a PhD in political science from Berkeley, and is the author of: "Red to Green? Environmental Activism in Post-Soviet Russia", Cornell University, 2010, and "Russian Civil Society, A Critical Assessment", ME Sharpe, 2006. Dr Henry's viewpoint has been formed from academic research, and hands-on experience inside Russia.
